Post Oak DCP was built from the ground up with the idea to give indie filmmakers a fast, affordable, high quality, user-friendly DCP experience. Gone are the days of overpaying for the service, while being bombarded with overly technical, overwhelming options and information. We simply take your film, ask you a few questions and deliver a 2K or 4K digital cinema package. Our hope is to give all filmmakers the opportunity to screen their hard work at the pristine quality it deserves.
Process
1. Send Us Your Film.
The first step in the DCP process is for you to send us your film in a ProRes format. You can either ship us a drive with the film on it, or if it's a short film, you can upload it to us and we'll take it from there. If you want to send us something besides ProRes that's fine too, we only mention ProRes since it's the most common format we receive and the most flexible for creating a DCP.
2. We Take Care of Everything.
Once we've received your film you just sit back and wait for us to complete your DCP. Once we've had a short chat about your film and your needs, we'll know what has to get done. No need to worry if we ask you a technical question about your film you don't know. We're also here to walk you through everything, should it be needed, and explain things in an everyday language so we're all on the same page.
3. We Test Your DCP.
Once your digital cinema package is complete, we run it through multiple tests and a validation process to ensure everything came through properly and to avoid any mishaps during screening. We're so particular about this in fact, that a lot of times this is the most time consuming step in the process.
4. We Deliver Your DCP.
After the creation and grueling testing, your DCP is complete and is delivered to you in a professionally packaged hard case with foam insert. Everything is neatly labeled and a spec sheet is added for whomever is screening the DCP. Should you ever need another DCP of your film, one of the benefits we provide is to make copies for you with no re-authoring fee. All you have to do is purchase the drive to place the DCP files on and we do the rest.
5. You Have a Great Screening.
Once everything is complete and delivered, all that's left to do is to have a great screening of your film and celebrate with the cast and crew. We even provide a liaison service at no charge between us and the festival or projectionist. This ensures that should the festival or projectionist have any questions, they'll be getting the right answers directly from the source.
